Q. What is PQQ and what does it do?
A. PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone) is a redox-active compound that helps support mitochondrial function by protecting against oxidative stress-induced damage. Mitochondria are the energy-producing structures within your cells.
Q. What is the difference between PQQ disodium salt and regular PQQ?
A. PQQ in its free-acid form is highly unstable and degrades when exposed to heat and moisture. The disodium salt form (PQQ Na₂) used in Herba® PQQ is far more stable, which means the 20mg listed on the label remains the 20mg you receive throughout the bottle's shelf life. Virtually all reputable PQQ supplements use the disodium salt form for this reason.
Q. How do I take Herba® PQQ?
A. Adults 18 years and over: take 1 capsule, 1 time per day. With 60 capsules per bottle, you receive a full 2-month supply.
Q. What does ">98% purity" actually mean?
A. It means more than 98% of the PQQ raw material we use is the active pyrroloquinoline quinone compound itself, with less than 2% being inactive residuals. Many lower-grade PQQ products contain only 70–90% actual PQQ. Our latest batch tested at 99.5%.
Q. Is Herba® PQQ vegan and allergen-friendly?
A. Yes. Herba® PQQ is vegan, non-GMO, and free from gluten, dairy, sugar, soy, and eggs. The capsule shell is plant-based hypromellose.
Q. Is Herba® PQQ tested for quality?
A. Every batch of Herba® PQQ is third-party tested for purity, potency, and safety. The product is manufactured in Canada following cGMP standards.
Q. What does NPN 80145547 mean?
A. NPN stands for Natural Product Number, issued by Health Canada after a product has been reviewed for safety, quality, and the evidence supporting its claimed use. The presence of an NPN means Herba® PQQ is licensed by Health Canada for sale in Canada.
Q. Can I take PQQ with other supplements?
A. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking other medications or natural health products.
Q. Who should avoid PQQ?
A. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
